University of Essex Psychology Taster Event

University of Essex

Type: Seminars / lectures / masterclasses, University taster courses

Duration: 22 June 2016 - 22 June 2016

Location: Essex

Throughout the year we hold a series of exciting taster events for students studying at sixth form and college level. These events will give you an in depth experience of studying a subject at university, as well as providing opportunity to speak with current staff and students.

22 June 2016, 11am-3pm - Colchester Campus

Students will find out what psychology at University really is. There will be demonstrations of research techniques, taster lectures and real life experiments to take part in. Topics will include cognitive neuroscience, social psychology, perception and memory, among others. We hope that students will gain a firm understanding of psychology as the science of the mind and behaviour. The day will cover the breadth of this large and fascinating subject and is relevant to all students whether they're currently studying sciences or humanities.
