Freedom: Year 12 Politics and Philosophy
taster day
Location:
University of Reading, Whiteknights Campus
This
event will challenge your thinking and allow you to explore a range of
philosophical and political perspectives. Topics will include: What is
freedom? Does freedom require equality, or is it impossible to be both
free and equal? What is sovereignty and what are the links between
sovereignty and democracy? Are we free, and our lives meaningful, only if
we pursue values that we ourselves create, or if we pursue objectively valuable
goals?
You will also have the opportunity to meet and talk with current students at the University, and find out more about life here at Reading. Suitable for students studying Politics/Philosophy at A level or who wish to study them at degree level.
